Ian Stocker Develops Indie Games

Ian Stocker, Class of 1997, was recently at the Game Developer’s Conference, where he got to attend as a speaker.  The talk was called “Success in XBOX Live Indie Games” and he was invited to speak on a panel with three other developers who had published their own games last year. After working as a contract musician for games for over 8 years, he has moved into making his own games independently.  In 2010 he released Soulcaster and Soulcaster II, both of which are in the top 40 games (out of over 1500) and have sold over 8000 copies so far.  He is working on his next project and looking at expanding distribution to other game platforms.  He also shares, “Mary and I are doing great, we just got a new yuppie-style condo in Emeryville (renting, not buying just yet).”
