Grassroots Performs Totally Awesome 80’s Prom at Center Stage Theater
The Anacapa School Performing Arts and Music classes joined forces once again to present “A Totally Awesome 80’s Prom” at Center Stage Theater on January 6th and 7th. With our fabulous school band, The Adobes, and some awesome singers, students performed some of the greatest hits of the 80’s including “Billie Jean,” “Jessie’s Girl,” “I Love Rock and Roll” and “Conga” just to name a few. In addition, students danced to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” and presented skits from 80’s movies such as “Pretty in Pink” and “The Breakfast Club.” They also performed a very funny skit combining “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure” with Dire Strait’s “Money for Nothing.” The evening ended with “Celebration” and audience members joined the performers onstage to sing and dance.
A great time was had by all. Anacapa students, once again, should be proud of their teamwork and commitment to excellence! Upcoming performances will be a concert by The Adobes on campus in May and a theater performance of “Carnival” at Center Stage Theater, May 11th and 12th.
