2012 Family Math Fair
Anacapa’s math teachers Bryan Anderson and John Luca came together on November 19 to host the 2012 Annual Anacapa Family Math Fair. The Math Fair is s a fun and energetic evening when families can collaborate to solve a range of math problems.
At the fair, there are a dozen challenging problems varying in levels from age five to graduate level work. When participants get problems correct or spend quite a bit of time on the problem, they are awarded a raffle ticket and are then able to enter to win a variety of prizes. This year we had some generous donations from Trader Joe’s, Grainger, Farmers’ West Flowers & Bouquets, Sojourner and Three Pickles, to name a few.
Often times alumni show up at the Math Fair as surprise guests and this year was no exception. We were able to connect with new and old faces alike. Overall this year’s fair was a fun event. Everyone enjoyed themselves and had success in math!
