Fred Davis Discusses How to Win on the Campaign Trail

Acclaimed political advertising consultant (and Anacapa alum dad) Fred Davis stopped by to discuss his work. Dubbed by Time Magazine as “the GOP’s Hottest Mad Man,” Fred Davis and his team boast an A-list of political clients including President George W. Bush, Vice President Dan Quayle, Senators John McCain, Elizabeth Dole and Lamar Alexander as well as Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. In the 2012 election, Fred’s company represented a number of Republican candidates, all but one of whom won their bids for election, despite the Democrats’ overall surge in the term. Fred spoke in Breakfast Club about his current work on the presidential campaign of Ohio governor John Kasich. He spoke to the students about what it’s like working in the political world, how he selects the campaigns on which he works, and some of the keys to victory.
