Maritza Mejia, Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara
Last year the Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara awarded over five million dollars in scholarships and other awards to students throughout the county. This is a very incredible amount of aid that the nonprofit organization gives to college-bound high school seniors. In comparison, the largest scholarship foundation in Orange County gave about 1.5 million dollars in scholarships last year, much less money from a much higher populated county.
