March Special
After a very successful auction on Sunday, students and teachers took the day off, so the tent could be removed and the campus cleaned up after the big event. This year we went “whale watching” on the Condor Express, which sped us up the coast on a beautiful morning. We saw a large pod of bottlenose dolphins near Santa Barbara and three Gray Whales farther out to sea up the Gaviota Coastline. After returning to Sea Landing, we walked to … Read more

Here is a report written by some of the students on our soccer team:
What we saw on Thursday afternoon was a team that is the result of more than three years of hard work. It is the continuous blend between experienced players and younger teammates with a clear vision for the future, and where every player takes part in the whole team. During the past couple of days, culminating on Thursday afternoon, the Anacapa School prepared for the passionate … Read more

Since many of the seniors had taken the Anacapa sailing class as younger students, the sailing skills on the boats were excellent. We had good wind for about 30 minutes, and then the wind died. Two of the boats … Read more
Family Math Fair
“Fun” and “math” are not always found in the same place at the same time, but that is just what happened once again at Anacapa’s 17th annual Family Math Fair when our 7th through 12th grade students, parents, and friends worked to solve 12 different math problems in an hour and a half. The problems ranged from estimating the total number of candies in three differently shaped glass vases to complicated calculus, so there were challenges and success possibilities … Read more
JSA Fall State 2010
We sent our largest delegation yet to the Junior Statesmen convention in Los Angeles. Twenty-seven students, plus Gordon and Levi spent the weekend at the L.A. Airport Marriott.
Anacapa’s Douglas Throop shined during his rapid-fire debate on the death penalty in one of Fall State’s best debates. Both Douglas and his opponent from Dos Pueblos H.S. were well prepared with arguments from both sides as they spared in a new “speed chess” style back and forth debate.
Anacapa senior Connor … Read more
